The air we breathe is mostly elemental nitrogen (N2), but reacting this highly inert gas under mild conditions is challenging: some plants have succeeded, but most natural and synthetic processes start with nitrogen from chemical compounds. A new lutetium complex containing an N2 group could change all this. JACS Spotlights Published October 10, 2024 J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2024, 146:42, 28599−28600 READ FULL ARTICLE
