Shifted Layers Stack Up to Better Gas Separation

Ultramicroporous materials can be very effective at separating trace amounts of gases from gas mixtures. Previous efforts at systematically tuning the pore sizes and shapes of these materials have used a variety of strategies, but altering the layer stacking sequence has not been reported until now. It turns out that this strategy works very well.
